How to grow eggplant on a balcony

When planting eggplant, take into account that for the full development of this culture at home, it is necessary to ensure optimal temperature premises – 20-25OS. Air and moisture-proof soil enriched with organic substances should be prepared with neutral reaction before planting. Elevated doses of heat, sun, and nitrogen favorably affect the development and growth of eggplant.

Eggplant seedling

Eggplant Seeds should be planted immediately in a separate container, avoiding further pikation of this crop. In pre-prepared soil mixture it is necessary to plant 2-3 seeds to a depth of 1-2 cm. In the future, leave a stronger sprout, removing weak seedlings. Immediately after planting, cover the container with film or glass. After sprouts, move the seedling to a more lit place, watering it regularly every 3-5 days. For watering, use staid, warm water.

Planting eggplant

Mature seedling sprouts replant to a freer capacity. Remember: eggplant grows well on fertilized, dry soils. Seedlings should be planted 1-1.5 cm deeper than they grew before. After transplanting, pour plentifully seedling.

Timely watering, weeding, pumping and loosening are the main requirements necessary in the cultivation of eggplant. Ten to 14 days after landing, the seedlings should be fed. For this purpose, mix the manure solution (1:10) with potassium salt (10-15 g), ammonium nitrate (10 g), superphosphate (50 g). The resulting mixture moderately water the seedling every 10 days.

Pest control

When growing eggplant at home (on the balcony), the main pest of the culture will be the web mite. Garlic infusion is used to combat it. To prepare it 1 cup mezgi is bred on a bucket of water. The resulting solution is treated with seedling 1-2 times a week, spraying infected leaves.
