If you prefer to travel by car, you too need to get to Vologda or Cherepovets. From Vologda lead two roads — through Kirillov and Cherepovets. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages. The path through Kirillov is shorter, but the road there is worse. There will also be two ferry services on your way. But the places are very beautiful, and a lot of attractions. You will be able to view Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery and Ferapontovo. In addition, the crossing through Sheksna — one of the widest and most beautiful rivers in Europe — is quite interesting. Going on the road through Cherepovets, don’t forget to stock up on fuel.
Belozersk is a major port, so it is possible to get there by water in the summer. For example, on a tourist ship on the Belomorsko-Baltic Canal. Navigation usually opens in May and ends in October, but of course it all depends on weather conditions. Come to Belozersk and some flying ships — however, the number of them is constantly decreasing, so it is not the most reliable way.
