How to choose sleeping bags

Instruction
1

Decide what the comfort temperature of your bag should be. This option is the most important when selecting it depends on whether it will not be hot or cold at night. The comfort temperature is always indicated on the label and suggests what minimum temperature this sleeping bag is capable of withstanding. But it is impossible to target this indicator alone. Its value is averaged, someone will freeze in +20OS, and someone does not take and frost. Either way, you have to roughly imagine what minimum temperature you’ll encounter on a hike.

2

Select bedroom insulation. Now in stores there are two types of bags – with synthetic insulation and with insulation from down. Sleeping bags of fluff have better properties, but they are significantly more expensive, especially high-end ones – with gagara fluff. For hikes in which extreme cold is not expected, it is quite suitable for inexpensive sleeper with synthetic filling.

3

Pick up a sleeper of the desired shape and size. Take into account when buying a bag your physique and height, and decide what is more important for you – the effectiveness of the bag or a comfortable sleep. In narrow bags it is warmer, but sleeping is not very comfortable, in wide sleeping is more comfortable, but can be cool.

4

Decide on the weight of your future bag. There are four categories of weight hiking gear, classified by these categories and sleeping bags.
– Minimum weight. By choosing such a sleeper you deliberately sacrifice its exploitative properties for the sake of almost imperceptible weight.
– Ultralight weight. The manufacturer tries to balance the weight and quality of the sleeping bag.
– Lightweight. This weight has most of the bedrooms, they are comfortable enough, but also relatively heavy.
– Deluxe. The heaviest bags, with maximum comfort, usually do not take such bags on hiking.
