Instructions for the use of “Vilprafen Solutab”
active substance of the drug “Vilprafen Solutab” – josamycin. One tablet contains 1 g of active substance. The medicine has an effective effect when microorganisms are resistant to erythromycin. Because the drug slightly affects enterobacteria, it is not capable of changing the composition of the GI microflora. Vilprafen Solutab is prescribed for acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, which were caused by drug-sensitive microorganisms.
Resistance of microorganisms to josamycin occurs less frequently than other macrolide antibiotics.
It is taken for infections of the upper respiratory tract (medium otitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, paratonsillitis, laryngitis, sinusitis), diphtheria, scarlet fever, infections of the lower respiratory tract (exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bronchitis, pneumonia, pertussis), oral infections (gingivitis, paradontosis), eye infections, soft tissue and skin infections (furunculosis, corny inflammation, anthrax, pyodermia), genital and urinary tract infections (urethritis, gonorrhea, prostatitis, mycoplasma, chlamydia, including ureaplasma infections).
“ Vilprafen Solutab” is prescribed to adults and adolescents over 14 years in the amount of 1-2 g per day divided into two to three admissions. The dose can be increased to three grams per day. Children of “Vilprafen Solutab” are given at a rate of 40-50 milligrams per kilogram of body weight two or three times a day.
Contraindications and side effects of “Vilprafen Solutab”
“Vilprafen Solutab” contraindications are contraindicated with expressed changes in liver function, hypersensitivity to antibiotics group macrolides.
According to the indications “Vilprafen Solutab” can be taken during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. This drug is recommended by the WHO European Office for the treatment of chlamydia infection during pregnancy.
Vilprafen Solutab is usually well tolerated, but in some cases it can cause the following side effects: lack of appetite, heartburn , nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dysbacteriosis, candidiasis, bile outflow disorder, jaundice. Allergic reactions (urticaria) may appear on the skin, sometimes passing hearing impairments can occur.
If persistent severe diarrhea arose against the background of taking the drug, there is a possibility of pseudomembranous colitis. Patients with renal failure, Vilprafen Solutab are prescribed with care, under control of kidney function.
