Indications for therapy by chondoprotectors are diseases in which cartilage destruction in the joints: arthritis, $ arthritis and periarthritis, osteochondrosis, bone formation on the vertebrae, joint injuries, pathological changes in the articular cartilage, recovery period after surgical intervention on joints. The use of chondroprotectors is advisable only in the early stages of the disease, when cartilage is still able to recover; at the stage of total cartilage destruction, the use of the drug is useless.

Such drugs are administered intramuscular, and the therapeutic effect in this case manifests significantly faster. The course of treatment is 10-20 injections, then chondoprotectors are prescribed for ingestion.
Chondroprotectors include substituents of intra-articular fluid created on the basis of hyaluronic acid (“Fermatron”, “Sinvisque”, “Ostenil”, “Sinocrom”). They are injected into large joints and replace intra-articular fluid. Course of treatment – 3-5 injections. Sometimes one such procedure is enough. The course is repeated in six months.
Chondroprotectors are contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding, when allergic reactions occur.

How to improve the effectiveness of chondoprotectors
When therapy with chondroprotectors, overweight patients are recommended to take measures to weight loss, since the decrease in body weight contributes to the reduction of joint pains. It is also necessary to avoid heavy loads on the sick joint, it is necessary to regularly engage in therapeutic physical education, walking (daily, at least 20-30 minutes). Motor activity should be alternated with rest periods: after each hour spent on the feet, it is necessary to rest for 5-10 minutes in the position of sitting or lying down. Subthermia of the lower limbs is not allowed. When implementing these simple recommendations, treatment with chondroprotectors will have a much greater effect.
