In Eastern Europe and Germany, noodles are preferred to be served with sour cream sauce. The original taste of this dish is given by lemon juice and poppy grains.
To prepare 4 servings you will need:
– a couple of bulbs of medium size;
– 250 g of mushrooms;
– 350 grams of egg noodles;
– 1/3 cup of yogurt without additives;
– 1/3 cup sour cream;
– 1/3 cup lemon juice;
– 2 tbsp butter;
– salt, pepper, table poppy, garlic.
The taste of this dish will be given to mushroom sauce. It can be cooked in advance and stored in the fridge. Will only boil the noodles. In this case, dinner will be ready in literally 10 minutes.
First of all, you should finely chop the onion. Mushrooms can be cut beforehand, too, but not heavily finely. When the onions and mushrooms are cooked, you can put a deep frying pan on a medium heat and pour two tablespoons of cooking oil into it. It’s better than olive, but you can also sunflower. When the oil is hot, place the onion and garlic in it, finely cut or squeezed through the garlic. Fry should be browned until golden. This will happen in about 5 minutes. You should not refry the onions, as all the flavor can be lost.
When the onion has become golden, add two tablespoons of butter to the pan. After it melts, add the mushrooms. It’s all stirred and roasted for about 5 minutes. Mushrooms should become soft. Now you can add lemon juice, salt, pepper to the mushrooms and bring it all to the boil without forgetting stirring. When boiling, cover the pan with a lid and leave to reach over a low heat.
Sour cream, yogurt, poppy and lemon zest should be mixed in a small container. This sauce will also suit many other dishes. You can store it in the fridge.
Now it’s only left to boil the noodles. Cook in boiling, salted water for about 10 minutes. Cooking time is indicated on the packaging. This time is enough for the preparation of the mushroom mixture.
When the noodles are boiled, it should be reclined on a colander. If desired, the noodles can be rinsed under a jet of cold water to remove the gluten. From the colander, the noodles are laid out in a large, deep plate. On top spread mushrooms and sour cream sauce. All this should be mixed and spread over plates. The dish is ready.
When served on the table, noodles on top can be sprinkled with greens. But it’s at will and to taste.
The recipe is convenient in that sauces can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge. Before mixing with noodles, it will be enough to heat them in the microwave.
