Halushki with lard

Classic wheat flour halushki – a dish touching the heart of every Ukrainian. To make the dish even more hearty, finely chopped ham, bacon or toasted onions can be added to it, as well as melted lard with squalls. Once boiled, the halouches are brought to ready in the oven, where they are well impregnated with fat.

You will need:
– 1.5 cups wheat flour;
– 1 egg;
– 0.25 cup cold water;
– 50 g pork lard;
– 0.5 teaspoon salt;
– 100 g ham.

Lard can be replaced with melted butter.

Seek the flour into a bowl, make a deepening in it, pour a lightly whipped egg with cold water, add salt. Knead the steep dough, collect it in a com and cover with linen towel. Let the dough suit for 15 minutes. On a board laced with flour, roll the dough into harnesses about 1cm thick, slice them into small pieces. Leave the pellets to dry – it will take 1 hour.

In a saucepan, boil the water, salt it and toss the halouches. Cook the items until they surface. While the halouches are boiling, melt finely chopped lard in a pan, leaving toasted squalls. Cut the ham with cubes. Fit the halouches with a noise, fold into the fireproof utensils, mix with melted lard and ham and place in a preheated to 200oS oven. Heat the dish for about 5 minutes, then spread over plates and serve.

Potato halouches

You will need:
– 4 large potatoes;
– 1 tablespoon wheat flour;
– 2 eggs;
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil;
– 1 bulb;
– salt;
– red ground pepper.

Brush the potatoes, rub half one tuber on a grater. Boil the remaining potatoes in salted water and muse. Mix the puree with raw potatoes, add the beaten eggs, vegetable oil, flour, finely chopped onions and a pinch of red ground pepper. Stir the mass until smooth.

Boil water, add salt to it. Stuff small portions of potato dough with a spoon and put them in boiling water. Cook the products for about 8 minutes, then take them out with noise. Before serving hot halouches, pour sour cream or melted butter.

Halushki sweet curd Such

halushki is the most delicious to eat with sour cream, whipped with sugar.

You will need:
– 600g cottage cheese;
– 0.5 cup wheat flour;
– 4 egg whites;
– 1 tablespoon sugar;
– 1 tablespoon butter;
– salt.

If you like sweeter dough, increase the amount of sugar.

Spread the cottage cheese with sugar, butter, salt and flour. Whisk the egg whites in a strong foam and add to the curd dough in portions. If necessary, add some more flour to the mass. Roll the dough into the sausage, cut it into pieces. Boil the halouches in salted boiling water until ready. Serve hot, stirring with a little butter so the items don’t stick together. Separately serve the sour cream, whipped with sugar.
