How to keep cut tulips in a vase longer

  • – vase with water;
  • – ice cubes;
  • – sharp knife;
  • – citric acid;
  • – vinegar;
  • – aspirin pill;
  • – 3% sugar.

First of all, on the stems of cut tulips it is necessary to make oblique incisions with the help of a sharp knife. This procedure will prevent flowers from rotting.


The water temperature in the vase should not exceed four degrees Celsius, for this purpose you can add a couple of ice cubes. And also, the water for tulips needs to be changed at least once a day.


A little vinegar (1 tbsp per 1 liter of water) can be added to the water in the vase, which will kill all rotten bacteria. Replace vinegar with an aspirin tablet or citric acid crystallines.


Tulips are extremely capricious in communication and they cannot be placed next to many flowers, not to make a mistake, it is better to put a vase with them in a separate place without drafts and direct sunlight. And also, they can’t be put next to the heater or the battery.


And also, the tulips are great sweet seeds and it is recommended to add a little special 3 percent sugar to them.
