Anna Goryacheva: biography, creativity, career, personal life


Anna was born in St. Petersburg in 1983. Goryacheva began her studies as a pianist, then she entered the state conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (Saint Petersburg) on the vocal faculty under the direction of Galina Kiselyova.

In 2008, Anna graduated with honors and became a soloist at the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera.

In the same year Vladimir Kehman sent Goryacheva to a professional internship in Rome. At the Academy of Santa Cecilia, Italian educators worked daily with the singer on the subtle features of the Italian style and traditional performance of opera music.


On the stage of “St. Petersburg Opera” Anna Goryacheva performed parts of Olga (opera “Evgeny Onegin” P. Tchaikovsky), Polina (opera by P. Tchaikovsky’s “Queen of Spades”) and others. In 2010, for her work on the opera “Don Juan” by V. A. Mozart as Donna Elvira, the singer was nominated for the Golden Mask Theatre Award.

According to the results of the II International Competition of Opera Artists named after Galina Vishnevskaya Anna Goryacheva won the II prize and special prize for artistry.

 Until 2011, Goryacheva studied in Rome with such famous professionals as Renata Scotto, Cesare Scarton, Anna Vandy.

In 2011, she made her debut at the Flemish Opera in Antwerp. Goryacheva performed the part of Marquise Melibea (“Journey to Reims”). Then for five years (until 2017) Anna was a soloist at the Zurich Opera. She worked in the plays “Don Juan” by V. A. Mozart (Cerlin), “Salome” by R. Strauss (Page of Herodiades), “Nuremberg Meisterzingers” by R. Wagner (Magdalene) and many others.

In 2012, Goryacheva performed at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, where she sang the part of Edoardo in “Matilde de Chabran” with such famous opera performers as Olga Peretyatko and Juan Diego Flores.

Particularly significant hangagements in Goracheva’s career at the moment: the main part of the opera “Carmen” by Zh. Bizet, which the singer performed at the Royal Opera Covent Garden in London, as well as a capital part in the opera “Cinderella” by J. Rossini (performed at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo).

In addition, Anna has performed at the Zurich Opera, the Royal Danish Opera and the Mikhailovsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg.

At the Paris National Opera, Goryacheva made her debut with the part of Ruggiero (G. F. Handel’s “Alcina”). She sang parts of Edoardo (“Matilda di Chabran”) and Isabella (“Italian in Algeria”) at the Rossiniev Opera Festival in Pesaro.

The singer collaborated with such internationally recognized and renowned conductors as Enrique Mazzola, Dmitry Jurovsky, Daniel Barenboim, Sebastian Weigl, Maris Jansons and many others.

In 2019, on stage at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, Anna sang in a production of the opera “The Queen of Spades” by Stefan Herheim and the play “Engagement in a Convent” by S. Prokofiev.
