Naming tablets Asus
For classifying the gadgets, all brand manufacturers use alphanumeric encoding. This allows you to easily, without reading a description or instruction, without even looking at the device, to determine its basic consumer properties. In combination of the characters of the name, information about what price segment the device belongs to and what to expect from it in terms of functionality.
The following encoding structure for tablets is provided in Asus:
(X) one lowercase letter +(U) one digit +(U) two digits _ ( XXX) letters, one to three –(xxxxx) an additional set of multiple numbers and letters.$
Character decryption by example: Z300CNL z300cnl-6b019a z300cnl32gb
Z— denotes series and product type (ZenPad)
3— indicates the price segment in which the device is located: 1 for the budget level, 3 for the average price segment, 5 for the premium class.
00— display size. For diagonal 10.1, numbers 00 or 01. The 70 and 80 values are for 7 and 8 inch display tablets, respectively.
CNL (cnl) is a modification of the tablet PC. The acronym contains the characteristics of communication capabilities of the device. C — WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity; N — NFS near-field wireless communication; G — when 2g and 3G radio data transmission is used; L — supported by fourth mobile networks generation LTE.
Sometimes the name has a more extended appearance: the following are added to the main encoding (Z300CNL):
6b019a – assembly number that allows you to determine the internal device of the product. Options: 6a043a,1l048a et al.
32gb — Flash module capacity. Options: 8gb,16gb, 32gb.
Knowing the coding principle helps tablet PC consumers to orient in a large number of models.
Asus ZenPad 10: general characteristic
Not so long ago, the Taiwanese brand announced a withdrawal from the tablet PC market, as almost all manufacturers experienced a decline in sales in 2019 this segment, especially in Android devices.
AsusTek Computer Inc.presented its first ZenPad at Computex-2015. They came to replace the MeMo Pad series. Following the Z300C and Z300CG, modifications of the Z300CL and Z300GL came out. In 2017, the line of devices with a 10-inch touchscreen display was replenished with revisions of the 301st version: M, MF, ML, MFL.
The manufacturer has always followed the path of extensive development of this class of devices: ZenPad is not inherent in record characteristics or outlandish design. Models have comfortable firmware, light enough, can work with graphic stylus. Touch displays 10.1 are good for not distorting, convenient for web browsing and reading. Compact attachment keyboard is a useful accessory for working with large volumes of text. When the dock is connected, such a tablet hybrid turns into a mini laptop.
To the peculiarities of 10 inches should be added such:
· Mid-class device based on Android with ZenUL shell quite enough RAM 2 GB.
· A large number of applications are written for ZenPad 10, and they are best compatible with Google services.
· There is an opportunity to get rid of “advertising “obligation” and leave only useful programs on the tablet. Unnecessary standard applications can be hidden, disabled, and removed directly from the list.
· Thanks to the modest resolution of the display, the devices are almost never heated: during games only the area near the rear camera becomes warm.
· The location of the key controls of the ZenPad 10 differs from that inherent in tablets of the same series with 7 and 8 inch displays.
You start watching reviews and see: power is low, not very capacious battery, lack volume, the display has obsolete resolution, cameras as in budget smartphones. And then you’re looking for an alternative in the Russian retail… and you don’t really find it. Today users call Taiwanese big tablets (whether in a joke, or seriously) “fighters of old hardening”.
In general, Asus ZenPad 10 is the optimal option for those who need a non-addictive tablet PC, with which you can go online, watch a movie, play. Devices are not designed for resource-intensive games of avid gamers; not interesting for those who are fond of 3D design; not suitable for fans to watch movies in high quality.
Asus ZenPad, with 10-inch displays, has a strong position in the middle class niche — both in price and functionality.
Two ZenPad duets
Taiwanese manufacturer of tablet PCs equipped with a 10.1 touchscreen display are the following models:
ZenPad 10 – versions of z300c and z300cg
The 300th series of tablets of both modifications are equipped with the system Android Lollipop 5.0 with Asus ZenUi branded shell. The difference is in the presence of the older model module 3G.This means that the hardware filling is different.
The “brains” of the Z300C is an Intel® Atom™ x3-C3200 chipset containing a 64-bit microprocessor with four cores and a Mali-450 MP4 graphics accelerator. The system supports wireless data transmission via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0, as well as GPS.
The Z300CG features an Intel® Atom™ x3-C3230 chip. 2G and 3G standards are supported.
The battery in both tablets is non-removable, with a capacity of 4890 mAh. The charger ensures 8 hours of operation.
display matrix is manufactured using IPS LCD technology, there is no distortion even at 178 degrees. Notably, both sides of the 10-inch units have an album-oriented orientation.
The user interface is so simple that it is not difficult to understand the settings even for the child. Applications are run through both shortcuts and a gesture system (ZenMotion technology).
Both devices are well folded, thin (case thickness 7.9 mm) are light enough (weight 510 g). This practically matches the characteristics of the iPad Air.
Modifications ZenPad 10 — Z301MF and Z301MFL
Android 7.0 Nougat — the operating system used in both Z301 series devices. There are three RZU/ROM memory options —2/16; 3/32; 3/64 GB. Models differ in two parameters: display resolution and processor characteristics.
The modification Z301ML – HD screen, 1280 × 800 pixels (151 ppi). The frequency of the installed quad-core MediaTek MT8735W processor is 1300 Hz. The main difference between the Z301MFL and all other revisions is in the display resolution of 1920 × 1080 dots (226 ppi). The 1450 Hz MediaTek MT8163A 4-core processor is responsible for performance. Bundle with Mali-T720 MP2 video accelerator. 2 gigabytes of RAM. The drive is optional for the usual 16, 32 or 64 GB. Plus the ability to expand with a micro-SD card up to 128GB.
dimensions of the device are 251 cm ×172 cm with a weight of 490 grams.
It should be noted that the design of all large tablets of the ZenPad family almost completely coincides. The design uses a combination of textured plastic (imitation under the skin) and metallization.
