Ways to lay paving tiles with your hands

Types of paving tiles

In the Russian market there are two varieties of this coating — vibrated and vibrated tiles. They are made for different purposes. Vibrocast tiles are intended for country houses, private houses, where it will be used by a small number of people. This coating is designed for a beautiful design and does not carry much load, it is relatively inexpensive and has a large number of different colors and drawings.

Vibropressed tiles are distinguished by their strength and are used in the laying of pedestrian pavements, and in some European cities it is used as a covering for roadways. The cost of such a material is much higher because the technology to produce it is more However, this material has high durability, frost resistance and strength, which makes it functional and near a private house.

Prepare for stacking

Before buying tiles, measure the area you want to cover and calculate the approximate number of tiles. Decide on the type of coating that is good for your terms of use. Consider the installation of drains and street stormwater receivers. When buying, pay attention to the shape and thickness of the tiles and whether they will need to be trimmed, whether there are preboras in the kit. Determine how many pieces of material you need to cover the entire area. If the tile will be stacked near the garage, consult the seller if it will survive the weight of the car.

Paths are laid in a few days, depending on the surface area. Small paths can be laid in 1-2 days, and it will take about 2 weeks to cover the whole yard.

Materials and tools must also be purchased. So, a large amount of sand, curbs, bags of cement, durable elastic thread, metal pegs, hammer and rubber kiyanka will be required. Also there will be whining shovel, level (preferably laser), rule, trampolka, craftsman, broom, Bulgarian (if it is necessary to cut concrete), wheelbarrow, buckets. Depending on the area it will be determined how many bags of construction mixtures can be done when laying.

Check the stacked area for gradients and align the stacked surface. It should be noted that any site has to have a stingray, otherwise all water will be idled on the site. Use the level to ensure that the slope is in the direction of the cottage, not towards it.

Along the line to which the slope of the pad goes, enter two metal pegs and stretch the thread between them. Check the horizontality of the tension using the level by attaching it under the thread. Then tie another round to the peg and pull it perpendicular to the first. Tie the loose end to the new peg and drive it into the ground so that it is just above the zero line, depending on the slope. Tie the new rope to the third peg and reach out to the fourth, parallel to the zero line. Combine the last peg with the first thread.

Divide your surface into paths based on the length of your rule — one strip should be a couple of dozen centimeters already rules. Take measurements from the zero line – set aside the desired distance and enter the pegs. Do the same on the other side, and then connect the pegs using a thread, equalizing the height with the sides of the rectangle. This way, mark the entire site.

Then it is necessary to align the coating with respect to the markings by topping the soil. The gap between the threads and the soil shall be equal to two thicknesses of the tile. The soil also needs to be trampled with the help of a trampoline.

Cook the mixture of sand and cement in a ratio of 6 to 1. It is desirable that the sand be moist. Spread the mixture on one of the strips and carefully tramp it, pre-leveling with rake and rule.

Start stacking tiles. The first row is laid as much as possible and parallel to the plane. From this row you will lay out all the other rows. Each tile needs to be pounded with a rubber hammer to produce a seal and drown it slightly into the soil. The styling sequence is selected depending on the selected pattern. Similarly, lay the rest of the lanes on the selected site.

Stacking type “rhombus”, “paving” and “brick” is more difficult, and therefore it is not recommended to choose beginners.

If there are obstacles in the form of a gas pipe or a sewage hatch on the way, it is better to bypass them in whole pieces and then cut and fitting. Also during laying, slits can be formed, which need to be filled by spreading dry mixture according to the damage of the tiles, and then making sweeping.

In the last stage of stacking, kerbs are installed. To do this, dig a small trench of the appropriate width, the depth of which will be chosen based on the desired depth of the landing. Curbs are installed in the Trench and fixed with thick cement solution. Tile installation may be considered complete.
