First of all, it should be remembered that an apartment or room should be prepared for work. That is, from the surface of painted walls you need to remove old paint or wallpaper. After that, the walls must be putted and loaded. If necessary, repeat these steps several times. It is important to remember and understand that the quality of the final work depends directly on how thoroughly the wall is cleaned (from dust, wallpaper or paint residues). Painting shall be done at a temperature not lower than 5 C, normal air humidity, as well as in the absence of direct sunlight on the painted surface.
All skirting boards, switches, window frames, doorways and slips, as well as ceiling surfaces in places of passage to walls, it is advisable to paint paint paint. So you can protect them from pollution.
The technology of wall painting envisages the moment that the work will begin with the application of paint on the perimeter of the wall (over the skirting boards, in the corners, around switches, door and window openings) stripe about 6-10 cm wide. Doing it is best using a flute brush. Apply the line below the ceiling without reaching the very junction of the wall with the ceiling. Leave at the top a small band (15-10 mm wide) for the fillet. It will be easier if you pull this line with a cord. It is
desirable to paint the surface of walls not in one layer, but in two or three. This will camouflage possible defects, such as passes or sweeps. At the same time, apply the second layer only after the first one has dried.
Start painting the walls on the side of the window from the left corner and move along the wall, counterclockwise.
Types of wall painting techniques
technique of painting walls using a brush involves the use of whitewash, fly-brushes and brushes – makcatches. The brush must be dipped in the paint, immersing it by approximately ¼ length of the whole lint. Then extra paint must be pressed against the edge of the jar and applied evenly to the surface of the wall. Movements with horizontal direction are first used and then with vertical. The paint at the same time is well worked out and closely watch the filling of all gaps. No matter what paint colors you use, apply it from the top of the wall in separate sections about 1m wide and 50-60cm long. Then proceed to paint the other part of the wall. When the work is finished, the boundaries between these segments should by no means be looked at. To avoid this, carefully stretch them while painting the surface.
While working, hold a brush in your hand with a slight tilt to the plane of the wall you’re working on. Remember to systematically rotate the flybrush to ensure evenly triggered on all sides.
The view of painting walls using a roller also has its own features. The roller is lowered into a specially adapted paint tank and then rolled over the grid to remove excess paint. You can then proceed to apply paint using cross-movements from top to bottom. So the paint strips would be superimposed on each other, overlapping at 5-4 cm. Then the paint must be aligned with bottom-up movements.
It is best to paint in narrow stripes. So you will have time to paint the bottom area of the surface, ahead of excessive paint drying. To ensure even color on the wall, apply a second coat of paint. But it is possible to do this only after the first layer has finally dried. You can also apply paint on the roller with a small brush with some pattern, such as a net. Thus, you can easily and quickly create a beautiful pattern on the walls, which will make the design of your home unique and original.
Professionals recommend using a roller with a width of 18 to 25 cm with a short or medium pile for such works. In addition, wall painting can be done by a roller with an extension cable, that is, with a special long handle.
Painting walls with the help of paint or paint spray will allow you to apply the material very evenly, a layer of the same thickness, besides, in the shortest possible deadlines. You can use this device only in a clean, dry and well-ventilated room. The temperature should not exceed 10-30 degrees C, and humidity – 85%. Do not forget about safety when working with a pulverizer, be sure to use a protective mask or respirator.
Stir well and strain the paint before starting work. Control the liquid level in the tank and replenish it in time to avoid absorbing air into the paint spray, which can result in the release of the dye. Keep the paint spray while working at right angles relative to the surface, do not approach the painted wall closer than 30-25 cm. Apply the paint only with vertical and horizontal uniform movements. Loop and wave-like movements cannot be used during this operation.
