It is necessary to equip the aquarium with a water filter. It needs to be washed regularly and disinfected (once every 2-3 weeks). In addition, a necessary condition is the presence of illumination.

When processing the aquarium it is necessary to rinse not only soil and other decorative elements, but also plants, and it is advisable to pre-disinfect them.

For disinfection, manganese acid potassium solution is suitable. For this, 10 milligrams of dry crystalline matter dissolve in 1 liter of warm water. The resulting solution should be pale pink. Alive the plant in it for 30 minutes, then rinse in running water.

A 3% hydrogen peroxide solution can also be used. You can buy it at the pharmacy. In this case, pour 10 milligrams of solution into a container with 1 liter of water. It is enough to immerse the plant for 5 minutes, then rinse in running water.

Another method of disinfection: use methylene blue solution. It is required to take 0.5 grams of dry preparation and dissolve in 1 liter of hot water. The solution must have a pale blue color. Cold it to room temperature. Then place in a solution of the plant, hold for 10 minutes. After that, rinse in warm water.

In specialized stores you can buy a ready-made disinfection agent plants and aquarium supplies and follow the instructions written on the packaging. Then you also need to rinse the plants well in warm water.

After that, the plants need to be carefully inspected, removed dead and damaged leaves and other parts. Too big bushes should be separated, very long spines clipped. This stimulates their growth and gives an ornamental appearance to the aquarium.
